O Estágio na Educação Profissional e Tecnológica: a importância da compreensão discente do estágio como prática profissional no Ensino Médio Integrado e Subsequente no IFPE – Campus Vitória de Santo Antão

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze aspects related to the implementation of supervised internships in different technical courses at the Instituto Federal de Pernambuco (IFPE) – Vitória Campus. The problem that guided the investigation considered the shortcomings and limitations of the internship, highlighting the need for clear guidelines on its educational function. To this end, a survey of the state of knowledge was carried out, selecting studies on the relationship between internships and Professional and Technological Education (EPT). The research, of an exploratory, descriptive and qualitative nature, was structured in five stages and used questionnaires and semi-structured interviews as data collection instruments. The universe investigated had as participants: CIEC Coordinators, Faculty Advisors, Current Students, Graduates and Internship Supervisors of Companies. The results of the exploratory phase pointed out challenges in the supervised internship, such as the lack of integration among those involved, the lack of standardization in procedures, the scarcity of investments in infrastructure and human resources, in addition to the restricted view of faculty members on supervision, often limited to the supervision of the final report. Also noteworthy is the lack of institutional support during the internship, the limited contact with the world of work, which reduces practical experience in real professional environments, and the need for an integrated and collaborative relationship between the institution and the granting institutions. Some of these problems arise from the lack of a standardized and accessible institutional document that clarifies the roles of those involved and the bureaucratic procedures required to formalize the internship. The results supported the design of the Educational Product (EP) structured in a digital book in the form of a primer, aimed at formalizing the internship and its understanding as an educational practice. The material presents objective guidelines on the internship procedures, from formalization to completion. Evaluated by EPT specialists based on three axes, the Educational Product demonstrated adherence to the context of the internship at IFPE, standing out as a pedagogical and institutional instrument to strengthen the understanding and inclusion of students.
