Construção de checklist para hemotransfusão em unidades de internação da rede de atenção secundária e terciária

Abstract

Blood transfusion is a complex therapy that needs constant updating and improvement to ensure its effectiveness. Therefore, hemotherapy needs instruments, such as a checklist, to list its care steps, thus ensuring both the expansion of its benefits and the reduction of its risks for the patient. Objective: to build a verification checklist for safe blood transfusion in inpatient units of secondary and tertiary care of public and private services Methodology: Methodological study with a qualitative approach that also includes the scope review of the literature for the search, selection and analysis of studies that will compose the variables present in the checklist Results: In all, XX studies were found in the selected databases that served to construct 25 variables, divided into three moments, namely: pre-transfusion, transfusion and post-transfusion nursing care. Final considerations: The literature points to a great weakness in the care provided to patients who use hemotherapy, especially in the monitoring of changes that indicate some transfusion reaction. Therefore, the checklist appears as a way to help professionals to systematize their care, following a previously established chain of activities. Therefore, this instrument serves not only as a way of organizing the work process, but also as a measure of continuing education for professionals involved in the transfusion care process.
