| dc.description.abstract | With the advancement of Industry 4.0 and the growing use of the Internet of Things (IoT), there is an increasing need for more efficient, precise, and cost-effective decision-making processes. In this context, Digital Twins have emerged as a strategic technology by integrating data from physical and digital environments, enabling real-time simulations, predictions, and analyses. Despite their potential, the adoption of this technology still faces significant barriers, particularly related to costs, infrastructure, and the digital maturity of organizations. This study discusses the concept of Digital Twins and their applications in the supply chain, highlighting benefits such as operational visibility and advanced decision support, as well as the main challenges hindering their implementation. The research is theoretical in nature, employing an exploratory approach, and was developed through a structured bibliographic review using keyword-based searches in academic databases. It is concluded that, although Digital Twins present high potential to transform supply chain management, their adoption depends on structural investments and the development of technological competencies. | pt_BR |
