Análise estrutural e desempenho de um silo convertido em edificação habitacional
This paper presents the structural retrofit of the "Moinho" silo in Recife Antigo,
converted into a residential building that preserves its historical heritage and complies
with current technical standards. The objective of this study was to investigate the
challenges and technical solutions adopted in this retrofit process, contributing to the
advancement of knowledge about interventions in historic structures. The research
involved direct data collection on site, application of non- destructive testing to assess
concrete strength, computational modeling for structural simulation, and comparative
analysis with Brazilian standards. Sections 1 and 2 were reinforced with embedded
slabs, chamfered casing, and grouting of exposed reinforcement, ensuring structural
stability and safety. Section 3, due to its compromised condition, was demolished and
rebuilt with rigorous planning to preserve the integrity of the remaining structure and
the safety of workers. Continuous monitoring, through technical inspections and data
validation, ensured regulatory compliance and economic viability. Daily monitoring of
the demolition was essential for identifying critical points and sizing reinforcements,
optimizing interventions. The study contributes to civil engineering by documenting a
practical case study of structural rehabilitation in a historic building, demonstrating the
importance of integrating technical analysis, on-site monitoring, and simulation
technologies. The Moinho project reaffirms that the preservation and adaptation of old
buildings, when conducted based on sound technical criteria, can result in projects of
high architectural, functional, and economic value, reconciling historical memory and
construction innovation.

Evolução do esgotamento sanitário no Recife (2016-2025): avaliação dos resultados do plano municipal de saneamento básico

Evolução do esgotamento sanitário no Recife (2016-2025): avaliação dos resultados do plano municipal de saneamento básico
Universal access to sanitary sewerage remains one of the main challenges faced by
major Brazilian cities, particularly in contexts characterized by social inequalities and
unplanned urban expansion. This study analyzed the evolution of sanitary sewer
services in Recife between 2016 and 2025, considering the targets established in the
Municipal Basic Sanitation Plan (MBSP) and comparing the city's performance with
that of other state capitals in Northeastern Brazil. This descriptive-analytical study
adopted a quantitative approach based on historical secondary data obtained from the National Sanitation Information System (SNIS) and the National Basic Sanitation
Information System (SINISA). Historical data on sewage collection and treatment
coverage were examined, and Recife's performance was compared with that of
Salvador and Fortaleza. The results indicated stagnation in sewage collection
collection coverage, which increased only marginally from 39.95% in 2016 to 40.28%
in 2025, remaining well below the target of 90% established for 2033. Conversely, the
sewage treatment rate remained close to 100%. It is concluded that Recife has made
progress in wastewater treatment infrastructure but still faces significant challenges in
expanding sewage collection coverage.

Resíduos sólidos: um estudo bibliométrico da Produção científica internacional publicada no período de 1968 A 2025.
Solid Waste management is a widely discussed topic throughout the world, either
because of its social, economic or environmental importance. In this context, the
objective of this work was to map the international scientific analysis on Solid Waste
without resorting temporarily between the years 1968 and 2025, analyzing the
records that present the term selected for a search, based on literature review on a
question in question. In this sense, a research with information participation for other
researchers of the subject, since it is able to develop a set of knowledge, through theanalysis and critical analysis of a scientific production. To do so, use as a
methodological procedure a bibliometric survey; Using as a tool, the SCOPUS
database and from it were 662 publication records in 151 different journals. The
points were analyzed for: i) publications; (ii) countries; (iii) periodicals; iv) citations; v)
keywords; vi) authors; (vii) types of publication; viii) membership and ix) subject area .
The main findings pointed to a position of greatness in Latin American countries,
especially Brazil; was also a research in the last twenty years, being in 2022 the year
with more publications; a wide variety of objects of study, which are an integral part
of a strategy of economy, society and environment.

A influência da ocupação desordenada nas estradas federais em sinistros de trânsito : estudo de caso na Br-408
This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the number of traffic crashes on highways and the irregular occupation of the Federal Government's right-of-way, particularly by small commercial establishments. The research adopted a mixed-methods approach, using bibliographic and documentary research, analysis of official data from the Integrated Highway Operations System (SIOR/DNIT), and an on-site questionnaire with semi-structured interviews conducted with 14 of the 19 merchants identified at the location. The results showed a predominance of rear-end collisions, accounting for 68% of the recorded crashes, mainly associated with sudden reductions in vehicle speed. The study aimed to identify the reasons for the irregular occupations in order to propose solutions that could be implemented in the short and medium term, with the aim of ensuring compliance with specific legislation while respecting the social rights established by the Brazilian Constitution. The interviews revealed that the merchants' continued presence within the right-of-way stems from the lack of formal employment opportunities. The study concludes that irregular occupation contributes to increased exposure to road safety risks, highlighting the need for integrated actions involving engineering, land-use planning, and socioeconomic inclusion.
