The present study aims to develop, apply and enable investigative didactic sequences, for the&#13;
first and second years of high school, with the contents stoichiometry and chemical kinetics,&#13;
respectively. The proposal of investigative practices, whether of a practical or theoretical&#13;
nature, aims to arouse interest and motivation in the student, so that he is the protagonist of&#13;
the teaching-learning process, that he is the one who formulates hypotheses, organizes ideas,&#13;
seeks explanations and justifies, and in addition to everything understands that science is&#13;
dynamic, it is in continuous construction. Therefore, this study aimed to achieve desirable&#13;
learning and foster engagement and willingness to learn with this type of approach.

This article aims to analyze, through a didactic sequence, the use of natural fertilizer with 9th-grade&#13;
students at the Severino Francisco da Silva Full-Time Municipal School, focusing on composting and&#13;
its applications while highlighting its advantages over traditional chemical fertilizers. Natural fertilizer,&#13;
derived from organic materials, can improve soil quality and enhance local agricultural productivity&#13;
compared to chemical fertilizers. At the same time, it reduces environmental impacts and promotes&#13;
sustainable agricultural practices. In terms of sustainability, the environmental practices involved can&#13;
yield outcomes such as local environmental conservation. Economically, it leads to cost reduction and&#13;
greater savings. During the investigative class on compost production, students discovered the&#13;
environmental importance of sustainability and enjoyed a more engaging lesson through hands-on&#13;
experimentation. They found practical learning to be both enjoyable and informative, especially as they&#13;
learned how to rejuvenate soils depleted by chemical fertilizers, thereby helping both nature and farmers.&#13;
The students can demonstrate to the school how natural fertilizers are a sustainable and more affordable&#13;
option.

Environmental education is a participatory process that must involve the entire school&#13;
community. It is an awareness process in the search for values that lead to a&#13;
harmonious coexistence with the environment and all forms of life. As for the nature,&#13;
this work follows a qualitative approach through field research, which is based on the&#13;
confluence of data obtained through bibliographic research, field observation,&#13;
iconographic record, and field diary entries. The objective of this work was to produce&#13;
the ecological soap from a workshop, using the oil used in household frying by the&#13;
students' families and other members of the school community from the Alegria do&#13;
Saber School. During the development of the work it was observed that the students&#13;
showed a lot of interest and curiosity. The students showed little knowledge about the&#13;
correct disposal of cooking oil and its consequences, as well as the use of this raw&#13;
material for making ecological soap. The soap produced in the workshops showed&#13;
positive results when tested in the school's kitchen by the operational assistants, and&#13;
this was later confirmed by the return of some families who received a copy of the soap&#13;
at the time of the project's socialization. Some actions have already been initiated in&#13;
order to sensitize the global population to environmental issues, however, much still&#13;
needs to be done in order to promote solutions for an effective sustainable&#13;
development of the planet.
