The following analysis aims to highlight teachers’ perspectives on pedagogical tourism, emphasizing its importance for students’ development as well as the challenges faced in its implementation. This study examined how pedagogical tourism is addressed in the Integrated High School at IFPE Campus Recife, reaffirming its relevance as an formative practice. The analysis provides a foundation for implementing strategies that enhance this approach in the school context, contributing to the strengthening of the teaching-learning process and the integral education of students. The research adopted a descriptive and qualitative approach, combining a literature review on public policies, educational projects, and pedagogical tourism practices in Recife with data collection through open-ended questions addressed to IFPE Campus Recife teachers. Eight questions were applied, allowing the understanding of teachers’ perceptions of the impact of pedagogical tourism on the teaching-learning process and on students’ appreciation of the city. The findings indicate that pedagogical tourism at IFPE Campus Recife has great potential as an formative strategy, capable of linking academic knowledge with cultural experiences, thus reinforcing both learning and students’ emotional connection with their environment. However, further articulation is still needed for the effective development of such activities.

<title>Cine Cosme e Damião: cultura e lazer em ação - o impacto de atividades culturais e de lazer na redução da vulnerabilidade social de jovens Recifenses</title>

This study presents a sociocultural intervention proposal for the Cosme e Damião neighborhood, located on the border between the municipalities of Recife and Camaragibe, an area marked by socioeconomic vulnerabilities and a lack of public policies aimed at culture and leisure. The initiative, named Cine Cosme e Damião, proposes open-air cinema sessions integrated with a community cultural fair, aiming to promote access to national audiovisual productions, strengthen community bonds, value local identity, foster the solidarity economy, and encourage youth leadership. The project is based on participatory methodologies, involving residents in all stages — from film selection to activity organization — and establishing partnerships with academic institutions, public agencies, community leaders, and local businesses. The territorial analysis, carried out using secondary data and community consultations, revealed structural shortcomings but also potential for cultural actions capable of redefining underused public spaces, such as the parking lot of the local metro station. Inspired by the Cine Várzea project, developed in Recife’s West Zone, Cine Cosme e Damião seeks to integrate cultural, educational, and economic dimensions, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 11, and 17). The intervention is expected to contribute to reducing social exclusion, strengthening community networks, and creating new development opportunities for the neighborhood’s youth and families, while also serving as a reference for public policy initiatives and replication in other territories.

Seasonality is a cyclical phenomenon that directly impacts the hotel industry by generating fluctuations in demand that compromise profitability, financial sustainability, and operational stability. In the Metropolitan Region of Recife, in the state of Pernambuco, periods of low occupancy represent a structural challenge for the sector, affecting not only hotels but also the entire tourism value chain. In response to this scenario, this study proposes the development of the BusqHoteisapplication, aimed at mitigating the effects of seasonality through promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs that connect tourists to partner establishments during low-demand periods. This research adopts a qualitative and bibliographic approach, grounded in scientific literature and secondary data, and explores key concepts in tourism, hospitality, and technological innovation. The results suggest that adopting digital solutions is an effective strategy to reduce the negative impacts of seasonality, enabling more balanced occupancy management throughout the year. It is concluded that the application of technology to the hotel sector can contribute to strengthening regional competitiveness and promoting the economic sustainability of tourism activity.

This thesis on educational tourism for middle school students in Várzea, Recife, aims to integrate learning and culture through educational excursions. Based on the UNWTO definition of tourism and the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN), the thesis seeks to transform outings into meaningful experiences, promoting observation, critical analysis, and problem-solving. Educational tourism is considered an effective tool to enrich education, encouraging student engagement and the appreciation of sociocultural diversity. The proposal is to develop itineraries that address the Contemporary Cross-Cutting Themes of the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC), connecting issues such as human rights, cultural diversity, work, environment, and citizenship to the cultural attractions of Várzea. In addition to providing a practical experience of theoretical knowledge, the thesis highlights the importance of heritage education and respect for local heritage, contributing to the formation of conscious and active citizens in their communities. This work emphasizes the need for planning and evaluating activities to ensure they are relevant and educational. The research adopted a qualitative-quantitative approach, based on descriptive research and the application of semi-structured questionnaires to teachers at the Doutor Rodolfo Aureliano Municipal School, located in Várzea. The objective was to understand teachers' perceptions of the applicability of educational tourism in addressing the Contemporary Cross-Cutting Themes of the BNCC (National Common Core Curriculum). The results indicate that most teachers recognize the relevance of extracurricular activities to enrich the educational process, strengthen students' connection with the territory, and make learning more dynamic and contextualized. The teachers' interest in receiving training on the subject was also identified, highlighting the feasibility and potential of implementing educational itineraries in the region. The work also emphasizes the importance of heritage education, respect for local heritage, and adequate planning of activities, contributing to the formation of critical and active citizens in their communities.
