This paper presents a project that is situated at the intersection&#13;
between education and extension. The project applied a unique perspective&#13;
based on the hypothesis that educational materials about programming&#13;
created for freshman students can be adapted to promote awareness about&#13;
Information Technology courses. Given that, a methodology was developed&#13;
using concepts of Computer Science, Education and Design to adapt existing&#13;
materials, such as code samples, and create new materials, such as a book.&#13;
The empirical results showed that more than 250 freshman students and 1300&#13;
individuals outside the Campus were impacted, which can be interpreted as&#13;
evidence that our hypothesis appears to be true.

<link>https://repositorio.ifpe.edu.br/xmlui/handle/123456789/1890</link>
The growing water scarcity has driven the search for effective solutions for the conserva- tion and management of water resources, especially in regions where access to potable water is limited and irregular. IoT (Internet of Things) emerges as a promising technology in this scenario, enabling the development of intelligent&#13;
systems capable of monitoring, analyzing, and improving water usage. However, the application of IoT in semi-arid regions faces specific challenges, such as poor infrastructure, unstable power supply, and harsh environmental condi- tions that directly affect sensor accuracy and device durability. Most of the solutions currently&#13;
available are designed for urban contexts and smart city environments, where resources are not limited and connectivity is stable. These approaches often involve high operational costs and do not account for the limitations and uncertainties present in semi-arid regions, compromising their effectiveness and sustainability in&#13;
these contexts. In this scenario, this work proposes Aquasense, an adaptive IoT solution specifically developed for monitoring water consumption in semi-arid environments. The system uses low-cost sensors installed in household cisterns to measure the levels of stored water. This data is transmitted to a distributed web&#13;
applica- tion that provides intuitive visualizations, alerts, and depletion forecasts, helping users make informed decisions about conscious water use. What sets Aquasense apart is its adaptive capability: the system is designed to automatically adjust its behavior based on environmental conditions and resource availability, such&#13;
as battery power. This adaptability allows for energy consumption optimization, prolonged device lifespan, and reliable measurements even in the face of operational difficulties. As such, Aquasense stands out as a viable, low-cost, and impactful alternative for the efficient management of water resources in challenging regions.

<link>https://repositorio.ifpe.edu.br/xmlui/handle/123456789/1833</link>
This project aims to develop the interface design of an application focused on financial education and personal budgeting, especially for young people with low income and limited education. The methodology used was qualitative research, combining Design Thinking and UX Design Process principles to better understand users’ needs and create user-centered solutions. The project began with theoretical research on financial education, financial habits, usability, and educational technologies. Then, tools such as personas, empathy maps, analysis of similar apps, flowcharts, and wireframes were created to guide the prototype’s structure. The interface was designed to be clear and accessible, using elements like charts, a financial level indicator, and interactive quizzes. Usability tests were carried out with real users through the Cognitive Walkthrough method, helping to identify improvements and confirm the effectiveness of the navigation and layout. The results showed that the interface is functional and easy to understand, even for users with little experience using digital tools. In conclusion, the project proves to be a relevant and promising solution, with potential for future improvements and expansion.

This project developed a user interface design for a therapeutic support application,&#13;
addressing the historical neglect of mental health in Brazil. Utilizing the Design&#13;
Thinking methodology, the development focused on usability and user experience,&#13;
applying a user-centered approach at every stage of the process. Usability tests, both&#13;
in-person and moderated, provided detailed data on user preferences, allowing for&#13;
continuous design refinements. User testing was essential in validating and enhancing&#13;
the product, ensuring it met the needs of the target audience. The feedback collected&#13;
highlighted the relevance of the applied usability principles, providing a valuable tool&#13;
for emotional support. The application of the HEART framework evaluated metrics&#13;
such as happiness, engagement, adoption, retention, and task success, demonstrating&#13;
positive results. It is concluded that the artifact meets user expectations, creating a&#13;
safe and reliable virtual environment. Representing a significant advancement in&#13;
promoting emotional well-being and improving quality of life, this study underscores&#13;
the urgency of mental health care in today's society.
