This work proposes the development of a pilot project for an inclusive event aimed at blind and low-vision children at Parque da Jaqueira, located in the city of Recife. The objective is to plan a playful initiative that promotes inclusive tourism and social integration among blind, low-vision and non-disabled children through recreational and cultural activities based on multisensory stimuli. Supported by professionals specialized in leisure and inclusion, the project aims to ensure the fulfillment of children’s rights. The research is justified by the scarcity of leisure initiatives directed at children with visual impairments in the capital of Pernambuco, especially in public social spaces. In this sense it highlights the importance of expanding inclusion practices beyond the school environment to include urban spaces such as parks and recreation areas. The methodology consists of qualitative research, of an exploratory and descriptive nature, grounded in a literature review on accessible tourism and social inclusion, in addition to the development of an operational plan for the event. As a result, it is expected to contribute to the strengthening of inclusive tourism practices and the promotion of access for visually impaired children to leisure activities in the city’s public spaces.

<title>A praça da várzea como espaço de lazer para criança e adolescentes</title>
<link>https://repositorio.ifpe.edu.br/xmlui/handle/123456789/2134</link>
<description>A praça da várzea como espaço de lazer para criança e adolescentes
This research analyzes Pinto Dâmaso Square—popularly known as Várzea Square—located in the &#13;
Várzea neighborhood of Recife (Brazil), as a public space for leisure and social life, focusing on &#13;
children’s and adolescents’ appropriation. The study is grounded on the understanding of leisure as a &#13;
social right and an urban function that depends on material, symbolic, and management conditions &#13;
enabling broader access and more diverse uses, also intersecting with everyday, place-based tourism &#13;
dynamics. Accordingly, the general objective was to assess to what extent Várzea Square fosters &#13;
leisure appropriation by children and adolescents, supported by specific objectives addressing access &#13;
and accessibility, socio-environmental comfort, leisure infrastructure/equipment, and motivations and &#13;
barriers reported by users and guardians. A case study design with a predominantly descriptive &#13;
approach was adopted, integrating quantitative and qualitative data. Data collection included a &#13;
semi-open structured questionnaire administered through Google Forms between May and June 2024, &#13;
totaling 51 valid responses, as well as field visits with photographic records and systematic &#13;
observations guided by an instrument aligned with the questionnaire. Findings indicate frequent family &#13;
use of the square, although with low adolescent representation and a strong concentration of activities &#13;
around the playground and the sports court. Key barriers include perceived insecurity, insufficient &#13;
lighting, poor accessibility, lack of signage, limited shade, and damaged play equipment, in addition to &#13;
conflicts associated with the disordered occupation of space by informal commerce on specific days &#13;
and times. Recurring demands highlight the renovation and maintenance of the playground, expansion &#13;
of sports facilities, strengthened institutional security, landscape improvement, and regular cultural and &#13;
recreational programming. The study concludes that expanding children’s and adolescents’ &#13;
appropriation requires integrated urban design interventions and active management strategies to &#13;
consolidate the square as a democratic leisure environment and a catalyst for community belonging.

<description>Turismo pedagógico no IFPE campus Recife: uma análise do potencial formativo para o ensino médio a partir da valorização do sentimento de pertencimento à cidade do Recife a visão docente
The following analysis aims to highlight teachers’ perspectives on pedagogical tourism, emphasizing its importance for students’ development as well as the challenges faced in its implementation. This study examined how pedagogical tourism is addressed in the Integrated High School at IFPE Campus Recife, reaffirming its relevance as an formative practice. The analysis provides a foundation for implementing strategies that enhance this approach in the school context, contributing to the strengthening of the teaching-learning process and the integral education of students. The research adopted a descriptive and qualitative approach, combining a literature review on public policies, educational projects, and pedagogical tourism practices in Recife with data collection through open-ended questions addressed to IFPE Campus Recife teachers. Eight questions were applied, allowing the understanding of teachers’ perceptions of the impact of pedagogical tourism on the teaching-learning process and on students’ appreciation of the city. The findings indicate that pedagogical tourism at IFPE Campus Recife has great potential as an formative strategy, capable of linking academic knowledge with cultural experiences, thus reinforcing both learning and students’ emotional connection with their environment. However, further articulation is still needed for the effective development of such activities.
