This work aims to verify whether there is a relationship between previous knowledge
in Mathematics and academic performance, measured through the general average
and the performance coefficient of students in Accounting Sciences. We applied a
form to sixty-six students from a university located in the state of Pernambuco. From
the information that was found in the exploratory research, it was possible to relate
academic performance and knowledge of basic education mathematics subjects that
are used in the development of some topics, in addition to comparing the results with
the perception of the level of difficulty in the using of mathematics in specific
subjects. The results show that the tendency is that the higher is the academic
performance, the higher is the average number of correct answers in mathematics
questions and the lower is the average level of difficulty perceived in the use of
mathematics in subjects focused on mathematics and in accounting.

This work presents itself as a study of the so-called Agrarian Revolution that
took place on the Riachão farm in Lagoa dos Gatos, Pernambuco. In 2004,
peasants organized by the Poor Peasants' League (LCP) seized control of the farm, divided the land, and began production, inaugurating the Peasants' Good
Living anchored in community life and sustainable production, which followed
after the land was acquired. In this way, it overcame the semi-colonial and
semi-feudal aspects engendered by the old latifundium in the area, ushering in
new and superior peasant relations and practices. Thus, the intention here is to
demonstrate that the Agrarian Revolution on the Riachão farm gave rise to
Peasants' Good Living, in opposition to the old and outdated practices
engendered by the latifundium in the locality.

The coverage of urban solid waste collection increased from 88% in 2010 to 92.2% in
2020, leading to a total of 76.1 million tons collected togheter at the urban cleaning
services (Abrelpe in 2021). Of these, 33.6% can be recycled according to the
percentage of recyclables in the 2020 gravimetric composition. These data point to the
relevance of waste as goods with economic, social and environmental value and the
strengthening of cooperatives to achieve the purposes of the sector. This research
sought to present the performance of the Coocares cooperative in the Municipality of
Abreu e Lima, located in the Metropolitan Region of Recife (RMR), state of
Pernambuco, highlighting its importance and local and regional contribution for the
municipality to reach the recovery targets for the dry fraction of waste defined in the
National Solid Waste Plan launched in 2022 and the framing of the results in relation
to the Urban Sustainability Index (ISLU), the Selective Collection Program (PCS) of
the RDM/PE and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). For this analysis, the
pre-pandemic data, referring to the year 2018, was considered, as it is a period with
more reliable activity in the reality of the operation of the sorting unit that processed
and correctly destined 541.5 tons of waste, which represents 5.5% of the total mass of
the dry fraction generated by the municipality. To this end, a bibliographic review and
semi-structured interview were carried out, using Laurence Bardin’s content Analysis
applied to social research to interpret the data.

These are the occasional socio-environmental impacts caused by the implementation
of the 500kV Campina Grande III – Pau Ferro Transmission Line in the Chico
Mendes II Settlement, in the Rural Area of the municipality of Tracunhaém (PE). The
main field of work was delimited in one of the plots of the settlement, Sítio Agatha.
The main thing is to present peasant and Afro-referenced perspectives about a
transmission line of high implementation in Sítio Agatha. These perspectives are
associated with the concepts of environmental necropolitics, black peasantry and
family farming. The main collection techniques of this qualitative research were the
narrative interview and the participant observation. The article concludes that the
expansion of wind farms in the Northeast region of Brazil significantly impacts the
ways of life of the black peasantry.
