<title>Matemática e relações humanas: utilização de matrizes para compreender interações em redes sociais</title>

<summary type="text">Matemática e relações humanas: utilização de matrizes para compreender interações em redes sociais
Human relationships, regardless of their format and their levels of organisation and&#13;
institutionalisation, are generally regarded as a domain far removed from Mathematics&#13;
and from analytical techniques that involve some degree of quantification. This&#13;
perceived separation between the two disciplines inspired us to investigate how&#13;
Mathematics might be brought closer to the Humanities. In this study, by employing&#13;
adjacency matrices (Discrete Mathematics), we set out to explore the potential of this&#13;
tool for describing and analysing interactions between individuals that routinely occur&#13;
within social networks. Consequently, our aim was to examine how the concept of&#13;
matrices can be applied to the study of both online and offline social networks. Faced&#13;
with the logistical and ethical challenges of conducting research with human subjects,&#13;
we opted to construct a artificial social network based on the Erdős–Rényi model using&#13;
RStudio. This approach allowed us to establish relationships among individuals in&#13;
social networks and, through the use of centrality metrics to characterise the network’s&#13;
structure alongside its graphical representation, to analyse the interactions between its&#13;
members. As a result, we concluded that the subject of social networks—whether&#13;
experienced offline or as online social media—being so topical, can be employed to&#13;
engage students in understanding matrices and, in conjunction with Computer&#13;
Science, can provide a pathway to grasp this mathematical concept and its&#13;
applications across diverse contexts. We also demonstrated how interactions between&#13;
individuals in a social network, which may appear random and chaotic, can at least&#13;
partly be understood through mathematics. Moreover, we hope that this work will serve&#13;
as a resource for those who, like us, wish to understand how to bridge two seemingly&#13;
disparate branches of knowledge: the Humanities and the Exact Sciences

<summary type="text">O jogo de xadrez e a educação matemática
This work aims to identify the importance of the game of chess and its relevance in the school environment, more precisely in mathematics education. And also the possible moves of chess on the board, highlighting the knight, as one of the fundamental pieces in the elaboration of moves, having as main objective of the research, the probability of these moves. The methodology used was bibliographical research, with a qualitative methodological approach, exploring the studies of other researchers and authors, who naturally wrote about the game of chess and the subjects connected to the game. Several materials from different authors were analyzed during this research, which showed that no author reported that chess was just a hobby game, but that it is a rich game, with aspects that develop the cognitive capacity of practitioners. A great ally of educators in the teaching – learning process in the field of mathematics more precisely, for allowing it to be used as a pedagogical instrument, to remedy the needs of the multidisciplinary teaching process in the school environment. Therefore, the present work was conclusive in view of the fact that chess is of great importance in school education, it is connected in some way with the daily life within schools because it is a game that works on learning, logical reasoning and the way of think of each student, satisfactorily bringing various results.

Mathematics is a science that is present in all situations in our daily lives, in a way that goes beyond school, this study seeks to show mathematics in an unconventional way, applied in one of the oldest professions in the world, carpentry , where its concepts are important for the production of high performance in the construction of wooden utensils, seeking to improve and maximize production. This article was formulated with the aim of showing some mathematical concepts and where we apply them in this profession. Using a problem to acquire the knowledge of this study, thus observing several applications used in the daily lives of carpenters at serraria EBENESIA in the municipality of Rio Formoso PE

<summary type="text">Um estudo de questões da OPEMAT sobre análise combinatória
We can find applications of mathematics in many everyday situations, however, when we enter the classroom environment, we see students who are still uninterested in this subject, which is so important for solving different everyday situations. Thinking about making mathematics more attractive to students and motivating them with regard to applicable knowledge in this area, there is OPEMAT (Olimpíada Pernambucana de Matemática) in the state of Pernambuco, which promotes training for teachers, thus encouraging the stimulation of teachers and students to constantly apply mathematical concepts. Therefore, this work aims to analyze combinatorial analysis issues of the OPEMAT tests, comparing the test answer sheet with the resolution using an alternative method, which may be easier for the student. In this work we address different ways of solving 4 questions that correspond to the second level of the OPEMAT test. After the resolutions, it was possible to observe that there are possibilities of reaching the same official template using other mechanisms. With this, it was possible to conclude that the student, using different techniques, can more easily solve combinatorial analysis questions, also showing that it is important to practice solving questions, so that the student acquires more familiarity with problem solving and can have different means and experiences to solve math questions more easily
