This report was developed with the purpose of describing the activities carried out
during the period of the Supervised Internship of the Technologist in Environmental
Management program, conducted from September 9, 2024, to September 8, 2025, at
the Secretariat for the Environment of the city of Recife, within the Environmental
Monitoring and Inspection Management sector. The supervised internship constitutes
a fundamental stage of academic training, as it enables the practical application of
the knowledge acquired throughout the three years of the program, contributing to
the student’s professional and personal development. Among the activities
performed, the monitoring of the inspection team during field inspections related to
water pollution, soil pollution, noise pollution, infractions against flora, and
environmental offenses against public administration stands out, in accordance with
Municipal Decree No. 30,324/2017, as well as the environmental monitoring of
reported areas, contributing to the improvement of environmental management and
control within the municipality.

Diagnóstico do descarte de medicamentos e suas consequências socioambientais na população brasileira
The present study aimed to analyze the consumption and disposal of medicines by the
Brazilian population, as well as to identify the main socio-environmental consequences
resulting from the improper disposal of such waste. The Sustainable Development
Goals were also addressed, highlighting health, water, and responsible consumption
in tackling the inadequate disposal of medicines. The study sought to understand the
factors that contribute to incorrect disposal, such as self-medication, lack of
information, and insufficient public policies aimed at raising social awareness.
Methodologically, this is basic research with a mixed approach—both qualitative and
quantitative—of an exploratory nature, developed through bibliographic research.
Scientific articles, legislation, statistical data, and documents from governmental and
institutional agencies were analyzed. The results showed that Brazil has a high level
of medicine consumption, ranking among the top ten pharmaceutical markets in the
world, and that a large portion of the population improperly disposes of expired or
unused medicines, mainly in household waste and sewage systems. These practices
lead to negative impacts on the environment and public health, such as feminization
of males, masculinization of females, and hermaphroditism in wildlife, in addition to
increasing the incidence of breast cancer in humans. It was concluded that, despite
the existence of specific regulations and legislation, there are still shortcomings in the
dissemination of information and in the implementation of educational actions.
Therefore, joint efforts by public authorities, the private sector, and society are
necessary to promote the rational use of medicines and environmentally appropriate
disposal.

Aipower App: sistema para configuração de ambiente IoT
Approximately 40% of global energy consumption originates from buildings, making cons
tant monitoring and the adoption of strategies to reduce operational costs and minimize
environmental impacts essential (Rocha et al.). Solutions focused on energy consumption
management and predictive maintenance of air conditioners are of fundamental impor
tance in this context. This project proposes the development of a system that enables
air conditioner monitoring solutions, providing an infrastructure responsible for collecting
the data required for monitoring, as well as configuring IoT devices involved in energy
consumption measurement. The system integrates with an Open Source IoT manage
ment platform and database via a REST API, and also allows IoT device configuration
through TCP sockets. The REST API centralizes operations and communication between
system components, simplifying deployment and providing the foundation necessary for
implementing air conditioner monitoring solutions.

This report describes the supervised internship carried out at the Pernambuco State
Environmental Agency (CPRH), within the Abiotic Resources Monitoring Unit (UMRA),
between September 2021 and September 2023, with a workload of 20 hours per week.
The objective was to experience professional practice in public environmental
management, applying and expanding the knowledge acquired in the Technology in
Environmental Management course at IFPE. The main activities focused on the
environmental monitoring of abiotic resources (water, air, and solid waste), specifically:
(i) the calculation and organization of data for the Water Quality Index (IQA), using
software Microsoft® Excel spreadsheets based on the CETESB methodology and on
CONAMA resolution nº 357/2005; (ii) the generation and dissemination of daily Air
Quality Index (IQAr) bulletins, based on processing data from automatic pollutant
monitoring stations and the application of CONAMA Resolution No. 506/2024; and (iii)
the monitoring and processing of data from the Annual Declaration of Solid Waste
(DARS), involving support to declarants via the SGRI/SILIA systems and email. The
experience provided a direct integration between the theory from the curriculum of the
Higher Technology Course in Environmental Management (mainly Water Resources
Management, Atmospheric Pollution, Waste Management, and Environmental
Legislation) and the operational practice of a state environmental agency, developing
technical (software handling, data analysis, application of regulations), professional
(ethics, proactivity, communication), and interpersonal skills. The evaluation of the
experience is extremely positive, highlighting the qualified supervision, the relevance
of the activities for professional training, and the institutional stance of CPRH in
fostering learning, culminating in an effective contribution to public disclosure technical
products. The internship confirmed the relevance of the academic training and the
complexity of environmental management in the public sector.
