Análise espacial e temporal da qualidade do ar no Recife/PE com o uso de sensores IQAir
This study aims to analyze air pollution in Recife, using data from air quality monitoring
sensors operated by IQAir, installed in some neighborhoods of the city of Recife. The
methodology applied included the collection and statistical analysis of data on air
pollutants, such as PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10, comparing them with the standards
established by CONAMA Resolution No. 506/2024. The results indicated that the
annual average of pollutants was below the permitted limits, showing that, in general,
air quality in the city is considered good, although variations occur during periods of
high traffic and weather events. It is concluded that, despite some temporary peaks of
excess pollution, the trend is towards compliance with environmental standards.
However, it is essential to carry out further investigations on an ongoing basis on the
calibration of the sensors and to deepen studies on the influence of climate variables
on air quality, in order to ensure more accurate monitoring.

Otimização de plantas de digestão anaeróbia para valorização de resíduos orgânicos e geração de energia de baixo carbono
This study aims to optimize the anaerobic digestion process of organic waste from
CEASA-PE, maximizing biogas production and promoting environmental
sustainability. The biological transformation of these residues generates methane, the
main component of biogas, whose release into the atmosphere contributes to the
greenhouse effect and global warming. Thus, mitigating greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, is a crucial aspect of
this research. To assess biogas production, the Biochemical Methane Potential
(BMP) test was applied, quantifying the biodegradability of the waste based on total
CH₄ production. The experiment involved introducing fractions of solid waste, a
culture medium, and an inoculum rich in anaerobic microorganisms, accelerating the
bio-stabilization process and increasing the efficiency of anaerobic digestion.
Additionally, the nutrient solution used helped regulate pH, reducing the time required
for system stabilization. The results enabled the assessment of the energy feasibility
of the biogas generated, reinforcing the importance of utilizing these residues for
sustainable energy production.
