This study aims to analyze air pollution in Recife, using data from air quality monitoring
sensors operated by IQAir, installed in some neighborhoods of the city of Recife. The
methodology applied included the collection and statistical analysis of data on air
pollutants, such as PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10, comparing them with the standards
established by CONAMA Resolution No. 506/2024. The results indicated that the
annual average of pollutants was below the permitted limits, showing that, in general,
air quality in the city is considered good, although variations occur during periods of
high traffic and weather events. It is concluded that, despite some temporary peaks of
excess pollution, the trend is towards compliance with environmental standards.
However, it is essential to carry out further investigations on an ongoing basis on the
calibration of the sensors and to deepen studies on the influence of climate variables
on air quality, in order to ensure more accurate monitoring.
