Estudo sobre a importância da hospitalidade no estabelecimento comercial alimentício, localizado no município do Cabo de Santo Agostinho - Pernambuco

Abstract

The need for shelter for commercial travelers and pilgrims who made long journeys concomitantly led to the development of different types of accommodation, as well as support structures for the realization of meals. Over the years and technological advances (in terms of transport and mass media) there has been an intensification of tourist travel, and, consequently, of concern with the implementation of hospitality. Currently, hospitality is a widely studied phenomenon, as, in addition to its importance for the development of tourism, it can impact the tourist flow and hotel occupancy rates. And although Brazilian hospitality is highlighted in several surveys, including the study of international tourism demand prepared by the Institute of Economic Research Foundation published in 2021, there are questions raised about the professionalization of hospitality in commercial terms, including within the establishments of food and beverages. Thus, a survey was conducted to understand the training and experience of professionals in the area of A&B, as well as analyzing their propensity for genuine hospitality, following the principles presented by Blain and Lashley (2014), in an A&B establishment located in municipality of Cabo de Santo Agostinho (Pernambuco). From this one can see big differences in terms of training among the interviewees and a greater propensity to hospitality of those interviewed who have better professional training and more experience in working in the area.
