Abstract

This study aims to analyze the current accessibility strategies employed by Recife City Hall concerning the event calendars available on the Conecta Recife and Visit Recife platforms. We examined both the promotional efforts carried out and the level of public engagement with these agendas. The goal was to identify and discuss the shortcomings in this process and to understand the factors limiting greater interaction with these tools. The research adopted a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative strategies, with an exploratory focus, along with bibliographic research to provide a theoretical perspective on the positive impacts of events in urban settings. Based on the questionnaire responses, we developed a series of proposals and strategies aimed primarily at enhancing the visibility and accessibility of the event calendars on the Visit Recife and Conecta Recife platforms. These measures are intended to increase public awareness of the events and, ultimately, encourage potential tourists to use the calendars to stay informed about the city’s event programming.
