A improvisação como processo de construção de significados à luz da Psicologia Cultural Semiótica

Resumo

This study investigates musical improvisation as a process of meaning-making, analyzing its dimensions in common sense, academic literature, and musicians' performative practices. Using Cultural Semiotic Psychology as a theoretical framework, which understands meanings as culturally mediated through signs and symbolic practices, the research seeks to reveal how improvisation emerges as a dynamic space for signification. The focus is on professors and students from the Music Teaching Program at IFPE, Campus Belo Jardim, exploring how their performances and reflections reframe cultural and musical experiences. The investigation starts with the analysis of cultural repertoires and the interaction with musical signs, highlighting how improvisation transcends technical aspects and assumes a central role in articulating memories, intentions, and creativity. The results show that improvisation functions as a continuous semiosis, where subjects integrate technical and cultural elements, transforming them into unique musical discourses. This approach underscores the relevance of improvisation as a performative practice and a field of cultural signification, contributing to academic and artistic enrichment within and beyond the teaching program.
