Tourism is one of the main economic activities in the world. It is a current phenomenon that can promote economic, social and environmental changes. In the Northeast, the coast presents itself as the main attraction of the region, receiving a large flow of tourists every year. A consequence of this, in some beach regions, is the massification of tourist activity, which shows an activity developed without proper planning, causing several problems and socio-environmental degradation. For this reason, this work aims to create a plan of actions / sustainable practices for small hotel businesses. To this end, interviews were conducted to collect data in order to define the profile of tourists and inns in Porto de Galinhas and the level of knowledge that one has about sustainability. The evaluation of the collected data was made through the Sustainable Practice Index - IPS, which was prepared based on the adaptation of the Sullivan Matrix (Infusion / Diffusion) and the Sustainability Management Index by Perez Jr and Rezende (2011). 93 tourists were interviewed, among whom the majority reported interest in enterprises that care about the environment and the receiving community. In the interview with the 18 managers of the inns, it was possible to see that most enterprises develop sustainable practices and see this type of action as a profit opportunity for the company.
