Abstract

Currently, according to evidence, among the main pillars of Brazilian economic development are the construction sector and microenterprises (ME), whose proper management of their resources, such as inventory, for example, is a major challenge to ensure the continuity of these businesses. This article aims to present a proposal to improve inventory management and the quality of its processes with the help of quality tools. An interview with questions based on a previous study was used to get to know and understand the planning, control, and supply of the stock of the company researched. It was verified that the stock management was done in an empirical, observational, and manual way, which led to failures that later reflected on the quality delivered to the final consumer. Therefore, it was sought to investigate the causes of control failures that were contributing to the inadequate management of the stock with the Ishikawa diagram, from the number of causes found it was prioritized (s) that should be eliminated more quickly through the GUT matrix, and, in the PDCA cycle, it was proposed the action plan with suggestions, such as, for example, the use of a sales software, which should support the solution of the failures observed.
