Resumo

Corn is one of the most important crops worldwide, both from an economic and social point of view, standing out for being the most produced grain in the world. In contemporary days, there is an evident concern with our production system in complying with the premises of sustainable development. The objective of this study was to evaluate the development of Maize (Zae mays) under the management of organic and mineral fertilization with the objective of a better rationalization in the use of mineralization fertilizers. The experiment was a field situation, at IFPE/Campus Barreiros. The plants were planted in a crib (0.20 m x 0.20 m), with a spacing of 0.80 m between plants and 1.0 m between rows, totaling an experimental area of 16 m2. The treatments used were composed of: humus (T1); NPK (T2); and, humus + NPK (T3). All treatments were compared with a control (T0). Each treatment had 5 (five) recorded in a completely randomized design. The means of each treatment were analyzed by the Duncan test at 5 probability. There were significant differences in the treatment with NPK in relation to the control for the mean stem diameter in all periods and, mean plant height at 20 days after germination. As well, the association of root-humus + NPK mass-dry case was significant for the root association.
