Sistema de Informações Geográficas para representação espacial de dados do cadastro de usuários de água do Alto Capibaribe

Abstract

The aim of this work is to present the process of developing a geographic information System (GIS) in Web environment. The SIG, named SIGAreias, was created with the aim to support and disseminate the data and information produced by the project developed by the Águas do Nordeste Association (ANE). The project collected data of sandy waters of the following municipalities of Pernambuco: Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, Brejo da Madre de Deus, Jataúba and Porção. The GIS development process presented was divided into phases, starting from the data treatment to the development of the system. This one, started from the treatment of the data obtained through the field work by the Águas de Areias project, so that they could be inserted in the spatial database, followed by the structuring of the database until the development of the logical layer and graphical interface. The project resulted in the building of SIGWeb in a satisfactory way, and it is available to store, manipulate and analyze data on water use throughout Alto Capibaribe.
