Resumo
The water, considered a finite good, has its use in evidence in recent years and the industry, potentially damaging agent, has a key role in the use of process management of this natural resource. The Industry Petroleum Refining, as an agent of transformation, presents high potential for degradation in the locality where it is implemented as it has, as one of the most important inputs, water. An oil refinery, recently implemented by Petrobras in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, the Abreu e Lima Refinery - RNEST, is designed to operate with high standards of water reuse in all instances of production and incorporates high technology in wastewater treatment for ensure good quality in this water reuse processes. This work was carried out a characterization of the main consumer units of water and a monitoring where flow instruments were used in continuous operation, installed at points where the flow variable reading is relevant information for the control of water flow, which enabled the preparing optimization proposals for industrial use in the refinery water flow. Petrobras has an automated interface tools that have been configured for monitoring the conditions of use and reuse of water from the main consumer units, to characterize and contribute to the existence of an optimized water balance, serving also as a tool for prevention of waste and improvement the refinery processes directly linked to the use and reuse of water. The refinery project includes the premises of reclaimed water in several cases, but uses a fragmented assessment methodology for optimization. It is presented as a result, a tool to control the use and reuse of water formed by a set of accompanying screens developed in Plant Information® platform, which weighs monitoring of process variables that refer to drinking water flows, wastewater and reuse throughout the plant. The use of the tool is effective in screening for abnormalities in the use of system and water reuse, thus contributing to the implementation of operating strategies aimed at significantly reducing water purchase from the refinery.
