Abstract

to build an educational guide for the reception of bereaved adults. Methods: methodological study, carried out in two subsequent stages: scoping review conducted to gather information on interventions and recommendations for the care of the bereaved adult person; development of an educational guide on welcoming adults in the face of grief. Results: among the strategies for welcoming the bereaved person, the following stand out: qualified listening; risk identification; promotion of family involvement; promotion of religiosity and spirituality, guidance for adherence to healthy habits, empowerment of autonomy, independence and personal responsibility and creation of strong interpersonal relationships. Final considerations: the educational guide was developed with the aim of summarizing information regarding the benefits of using the embracement aspect for the professional performance of nurses, as well as the identification of care, behavioral and discursive strategies to promote well-being and construction and strengthening of the bond between the professional and the mourner.
